Bellevue Dentist Suspended After Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

Bellevue dentist Kam Derakshani's license was suspended after he was accused of sexual misconduct with multiple patients who were also his employees, according to the state Department of Health.

Bellevue dentist has been suspended from practicing after being accused of sexual misconduct with multiple patients who were also his employees, according to the Department of Health.

Derakshani is the owner of  at 1551 116th Ave. NE.

According to the state, Derakshani's employees say that he made unwelcome sexual contact, touching the private parts of his employees and threatening to fire them.

KIRO-TV reports that the Bellevue police are looking into the matter, and the case will go the prosecuting attorney's office next week.

Derakshani can’t practice in Washington until the charges are resolved, according to the Department of Health. Derakshani has 20 days to respond to the charges and to ask for a hearing, the Department of Health reported.

Derakshani is the second recent action against local dentists accused of sexual misconduct.  last week after his 2011 conviction of two counts of communication with a minor girl for immoral purposes in King County Superior Court. The state Dental Quality Assurance Commission also said that Furman prescribed narcotic and nonnarcotic drugs to the girl's family without keeping medical treatment records.
