Bellevue Fire and Police Chaplain Mike Ryan, a volunteer at the fire department for seven years, is not a stranger to helping the public whenever the Bellevue Police Department or Fire Department needs him.

Donlin posted the following information about the incident on the Bellevue Fire Department's Facebook page:

While Chaplain Ryan was having lunch today (The King and I - great choice!) a gentleman behind him collapsed. Verifying the man had no pulse, Mike did CPR and asked staff to call 911. Aid 1 arrived minutes later, continued CPR, and provided a lifesaving shock using their AED regaining the man's pulse.

Mike's CPR was so good, and the firefighter's shock so timely that the man told the crews he was alright and politely asked to be left at the restaurant. The firefighters and medics convinced the man that a checkup at Overlake wouldn't hurt.
