A 7-year-old spotted smoke coming from her neighbors' house and got her dad to call 9-1-1 Monday evening, according to the Bellevue Fire Department.
Around 5:20 p.m., the girl saw the smoke coming from her neighbors' home in the 1400 block of 176th Ave NE in the Tam O'Shanter, according to Bellevue Fire Department spokesman Lt. Troy Donlin.
Fire fighters arrived within six minutes to discover the living partly in flames, he said.
The blaze was under control within 8 minutes, he said, but the family of six who live in the home are displaced and staying with other family members. No one was injured in the blaze, he said.
An adult who lives at the home said she and her four children had been out since 3:15 p.m. running errands, Donlin said in a press release.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation and damage is estimated at $100,000, he said.
