Bellevue Man Charged with Felony Hit and Run in Fatal Collision

Fikret Manashirov faces a charge of felony hit and run after the death Friday of Marina Kristalinskaia.

Felony charges were filed Tuesday against a Bellevue man accused of fatally striking a 77-year-old pedestrian with his Lincoln Town Car Friday night, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Fikret Manashirov, 49, faces a charge of felony hit and run after Bellevue police say he drove away from the scene of the crash in the 16100 block of NE 8th Street in the Crossroads neighborhood.

Police say that a Marina Kristalinskaia, 77, had been crossing NE 8th St. from south to north when she was struck by a westbound silver Lincoln Town Car about 8:20 p.m., according to charging papers. Witnesses in another car came upon the stopped Lincoln Town Car, which then drove away through a parking lot, according to the court papers. The witnesses, who saw Kristalinskaia in the road, tried to follow the Lincoln and got a partial license plate number before it got away, the court papers say, and the witnesses returned to the scene and called police.

Responding police officers attempted CPR on Kristalinskaia, but she died at the scene, according to charging papers. The description of the car was broadcast through the media and the next day a neighbor told police of a Lincoln Town Car that fit the description that was missing from its normal parking spot nearby, police reported.

According to the police account, officers went to the address at the corner of NE 13th Street and NE 165th Avenue that was  given by the neighbor, and found a silver Lincoln Town Car with damage that looked like it could have been caused by a collision with a pedestrian. Manashirov, who owns the car, approached the car and told police that he was the one who hit the person, according to court documents. According to court documents, Manashirov said he knew Kristalinskaia was dead or dying, and Manashirov was cooperative when police arrested him Saturday.

Manashirov is free on $10,000 bail. According to court papers, Manashirov has had past citations for failing to stop at a stop sign last year and a pending citation from March 3 of this year for using a cell phone while driving.

The funeral for Kristalinskaia, , was held Tuesday, according to Sunset Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
