Alcohol is suspected in the crash, said Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.

The driver, who was the sole occupant, was ejected from the sunroof as the vehicle rolled, West said. The driver was described as a 31-year-old man from the Bellevue area. He was taken to Harborview in critical condition. Alcohol is suspected.

West said a portion of 208th remained closed this morning for hours, including during the morning commute, because the vehicle had struck a pole and authorities were waiting to make sure the pole and area was safe for other vehicles.

Redmond area residents contacted Patch this morning about the crash and said traffic was at a standstill during the morning commute.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Redmond Patch's Facebook page Marci Lange Cook said:

"Crash is just north of Union Hill Road on 208th. 208th is closed in that section, but you don't know that until you get there. Traffic is a mess, hope everyone is OK."

Sheri Bowman Gazitt added at about 9:15 a.m.: "Traffic very heavy."

Patch will update this story as we receive more information.
