Bellevue Man Still Missing, Police Renew Call for Clues

Bellevue police say that Eugene Wekesa left his wallet, cell phone and apartment keys at home the night before Thanksgiving and he hasn't been seen since.

Bellevue police renewed the call for any clues to find, a 24-year-old man who hasn't been seen since the night before Thanksgiving.

"His mom sent him to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items for Thanksgiving. He returns after shopping, and says he is going to " shopping center, said Bellevue police Det. Tory Mangione.

But on his trip back outside, Wekesa intentionally left his wallet, keys and cell phone at the apartment in the 15200 block of Northeast 16th Place that the Bellevue College student shared with his mother and his brother, Mangione said. That was the last time that his friends and family have heard from him, according to reports.

While there is no evidence of foul play, Wekesa's family, friends and colleagues say that his behavior was unusual, Mangione said.

"It's out of character for him to do this," Mangione said. "His mom and brother live in the apartment with him. He's kind of a homebody. He has a job at an assisted living home on nights and weekends. He doesn't have much of a social life."
