Bellevue Police Community Academy Open to Fall Applicants

The Bellevue Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2013 Fall Community Academy, a 12-week program to learn about the city's police department.

Want to learn more about the Bellevue Police Department? The department is now accepting applications for the 2013 Fall Community Academy.

It's a twelve-week program for people who live and work in Bellevue who want to learn about the inner workings of the city's police department. The program is free.

People accepted for the academy's fall session must commit to 12 three-hour sessions from 7 to 10 p.m. starting Sept. 4. Most classes will be at the Bellevue Police Department.

Topics include Patrol Procedures, Firearms, 9-1-1 Communications, Narcotics, K-9, Major Crimes Investigations, Major Accident Investigations, Defensive Tactics, and Hostage Negotiations.
