Update: Bellevue Police Identify Disabled Man Found Wandering in Newport Hills

Update: a man who is unable to communicate was found wandering in a backyard of a home in the 6400 block of 131st Avenue Southeast was identified.

Bellevue police asked the public if anyone could identify a man found wandering in a backyard and unable to talk.

A neighbor reported seeing the man, who appeared to be disabled, wandering through the backyard of a home in the 6400 block of 131st AVE SE in the Newport Hills neighborhood, accordingo to a press release.

The man was described as Asian, wearing blue jeans and a red shirt, and walking without shoes, according to a press release.

"Upon contact the subject was found walking in the roadway and we were unable to verbally communicate with him," according to Bellevue Police spokeswoman Officer Carla Iafrate. The man had grass in his mouth, the press release noted.

Medics transported him to Overlake Hospital Medical Center. So far, checks of neighboring police agencies and surrounding adult family homes are negative, the press release said.
