Bellevue Police say that a man broke into a Bellevue home in the Newport Shores neighborhood on Monday after going from door to door telling neighbors he was looking for a dog.
Bellevue Police have released a sketch of the suspect in a burglary of the home on Dec. 12.
Police say that the man was casing the neighborhood by knocking on doors. The man had a black lab mix with him, and the man told residents he was looking for a second, similar-looking dog, according to police.
Police say the man parked his older red Volkswagen Jetta in the driveway of a home after the resident was seen leaving, and then entered the home by smashing the rear sliding door.
The man's was described as:
- Mixed race male (white with possible Hispanic heritage)
- Late teens to early twenties.
- Short (5’6” – 5’7”)
- Thin (described as having a “slight build” and “fine features”)
- Witnesses described the Suspect as “nice looking,” having “perfect skin” and eyebrows that appeared “groomed.”
- Facial Piercings. Witnesses were certain that the suspect had multiple facial piercings, but they were unsure of the exact locations. The likely locations included an eyebrow and nose ring, and a post in his upper lip. All piercing were small and silver.
