Bellevue Police Seek Vehicle in Connection with Fatal Hit and Run Friday Night

Police are looking for a full size sedan, most likely a silver Lincoln Town Car, with a partial Washington license plate, B9365F that was possibly involved in the collision

Update: March 26, 1 a.m. : Police report that the vehicle that is sought is most likely a silver Lincoln Town Car with dark tinted windows.

A 77-year-old woman died Friday night after being hit by a car that left the scene of the collision in the Crossroads neighborhood, according to Bellevue police.

Around 8:20 p.m., Bellevue police officers and fire personnel responded to a hit and run collision in the 16100 block of NE 8th Street and found the woman on the side of the road, according to a press release by Bellevue police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate.

The first Bellevue police officer was on the scene within seconds and immediately attempted CPR, according to the press release.

The Bellevue resident was trying to cross NE 8th Street at the 16100 block southbound when she was struck and killed, according to the press release. The area was well lit but there was no crosswalk at this portion of the roadway. There was heavy rainfall at the time of the accident, according to police.

Witnesses told police that a full size sedan, most likely a silver Lincoln Town Car with dark tinted windows, with a partial Washington license plate, B9365F was possibly involved in the collision. The car traveled west bound on NE 8th Street when the woman was hit, then the vehicle stopped and fled west bound on NE 8th Street.  

The street was closed in both directions for several hours while the investigation continues, according to police.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the collision.

The name of the woman was not released. The King County Medical Examiner will be releasing the name after their examination and  her immediate family has been notified, according to Bellevue police.
