A 20-year-old Woodinville man was booked into King County Jail after the car he was driving plunged off I-90 in Issaquah and landed in a creek near Sunset Way, injuring him and his passenger, 20-year-old Angela Christoulis of Bellevue.
The accident happened about 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, as the man drove eastbound on I-90.
According to a report from the Washington State Patrol, the car left the roadway into the median, striking the end of a guardrail and going down a small ravine, eventually coming to rest in the creek and catching fire.
Christoulis was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment for a serious arm injury. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and the driver was found walking near the vehicle..
The cause of the accident is under investigation, but the WSP report indicates that alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
