One person was killed in a single-car crash Friday afternoon on northbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland around 3 p.m., according to Kirkland Firefighters.
An SUV hit a large sign post at high speed and then caught fire on northbound I-405 at the 8000 block, firefighters said in a post on IAFF Local 2545's Facebook page.
Other drivers pulled the motorist from the vehicle and started CPR.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating.
