The woman's car was struck by the semi-truck, three minutes after she called 9-1-1 for help after striking a deer.

A 24-year-old Seattle woman died after she was rear-ended by a semi truck on Interstate 405 Monday morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The woman, identified as Alea Price, reported to dispatchers that her 2006 Toyota Scion was stuck in the middle lane of southbound Interstate 405 just north of Interstate 90 after striking a deer around 4:30 a.m.

According to KOMO News, Price had called Washington State Patrol and her boyfriend for help after striking the deer because her car was stuck. Both were on the way to the scene when a semi-truck, driven by Kulwinder Singh, 28, rear ended her vehicle, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The state patrol said that the force of the collision sent Price's car into the left shoulder. Price died at the scene. Singh was not injured.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the fatal collision occurred three minutes after Price called 9-1-1.

Traffic was blocked for 3 and a half hours while troopers investigated the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
