Update: Elderly Diabetic Bellevue Man Found Safe

Bellevue Police ask people to be on the look out for a 79-year-old medically fragile man who didn't return to his Crossroads home Tuesday.

Luis Sanchez is described as a white male, 5’04”, 149 pounds with white balding hair and hazel eyes. He is reported to have driven a green Ford Focus, WA plate AIY5463. Sanchez was wearing a blue sweatshirt with “very old” blue jeans, white diabetic socks, and black shoes.

The Bellevue Police Department released the following information:

Mr. Luis Sanchez, a 79 year-old Bellevue resident was last seen leaving his home in Crossroads at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14th.

His wife said Luis said he would be back and left in their green Ford Focus, WA plate AIY5463. Luis was wearing a blue sweatshirt with “very old” blue jeans, white diabetic socks, and black shoes. He does not wear a wedding ring due to his diabetes. He has white hair and is balding on the top of the head. He has no cell phone.

She told police it wasn’t unusual for him leave and go to Crossroads Mall to eat and people watch but he is always home for dinner and then goes to bed at 8:00 p.m.

He suffers from diabetes and possibly dementia and is insulin dependent. He is without his insulin and needed an injection at dinner time. Mr. Sanchez is described as a 79 year old White male, 5’04”, 149 pounds with white hair and hazel eyes.

Police did an extensive search of the area and shopping mall securities have been notified, as well as, local law enforcement agencies.
