Kent Boy Dies In Snoqualmie Pass Sledding Accident; Struck by Bellevue Driver

The boy was ejected from his sled onto the roadway, where he was struck by a passing car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 7-year-old Kent boy died Saturday after he was ejected from his sled into a roadway at Snoqualmie Pass, where he was struck by a passing car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The boy,  Jacob D. Ponce-Espinoza, died at 4 p.m. Saturday after being taken to Harborview Medical Center by helicopter, according to the Washington State Patrol.

According to the state patrol news release, Jacob was sledding in a driveway when the sled entered Hyak Snow Park around 2:20 p.m. Jacob was thrown from the sled and onto the path of an oncoming 2005 Toyota Camry driven by a 54-year-old Bellevue man, according to the state patrol.
