Man Accused Of Pushing Girlfriend Into Oncoming Traffic Remains In Jail On $1 Million Bail

Frederick Colvin is charged with Assault in the First Degree and Reckless Endangerment for allegedly pushing his girlfriend into traffic.

Charges of Assault in the First Degree and Reckless Endangerment have been filed against Frederick Colvin, 44, according to the King County Prosecutor.

Colvin is accused of pushing his girlfriend into oncoming traffic along Martin Luther King Jr. Way, near the intersection with 129th Street on October 29.

Officials have not released the name of the victim, 44-year-old woman, who suffered significant injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center that night after getting struck by an SUV. Police say the driver will not face charges.

Colvin’s arraignment is scheduled for November 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the King County Courthouse. The defendant remains in jail on $1 million bail.

Hmm, MLK and 129th. This is why i tell my kids if they ever get off the Interstate in any city and they end up on Martin Luther King Way(Street, Avenue), to go the heck back and get out of that area as soon as possible and do not stop. It is sad, but it is the truth.

The sooner people realize that all neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and all the people in them are our neighbors, the sooner all neighborhoods will be safe and friendly places to be. All it takes is for you, yes, you to start showing up at community events and talk to your neighbors... :-{)}

I have benn living in Seattle for over thirty years. Yes the crime has risen do to a lack of enforcement from the powers that be.When you have a city this size and refuse to accept the fact that out of town gangs are taking over then you get what you get. Also the drugs that are in that area are out of control. We as citizens can't continue to turn our backs as if the problems don't exit. We must get out in force and demand equal protection under the law. That's why we pay taxes! Let's work together, not seperate.

Thanks for the positive comment, Alan. You're right, neighbors are the eyes and ears of the community, which is why Renton continues to run its summertime neighborhood picnic program year after year. I know MLK is up the hill from Renton, but I know there are tons of great activities going on up there, too, such as the Skyway Fire Safety fair, farmers market, outdoor cinema and backpack drive coordinated by Ayanna Brown, just to name a few. It does seem like most of these events happen in the summer. Do you know if Skyway has a place to host fall and winter activities?
