Man in Wheelchair Rescued from Lake Washington
Mercer Island and Bellevue firefighters responded to the call Thursday.
A person in a wheelchair was pulled from Lake Washington on Thursday afternoon after being found in about 8 feet of water just off a dock on the north end of Mercer Island, the Mercer Island Fire Department reported.
The Bellevue Fire Department helped the Mercer Island Fire Department respond to the call just before 1:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
The first firefighters arrived less than 5 minutes after receiving the first call. Witnesses said the person was strapped in a wheelchair and they had failed twice to unstrap him and get him out of the water, the Mercer Island Fire Department said in a statement.

A firefighter with surface water gear was able to unstrap the person and bring him to the beach, where firefighters started CPR. He was resuscitated and taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue.
No other details were immediately available.
