Teen Struck by Vehicle on I-405, Possibly Fell from Overpass

A vehicle struck the 16-year-old, who possibly jumped or fell from the overpass, ending up in the second lane of the freeway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Update 4:30 p.m.

A 16-year-old boy whose body was found on northbound Interstate 405 early Saturday was struck by multiple vehicles, the Washington State Patrol confirmed via Twitter.

Only one of the drivers returned to the scene, where the boy was found, according to the State Patrol.

According to the State Patrol, the incident occurred at 4:40 a.m. The boy was wearing a black sweatshirt, pants and headphones and had been on 160th Street overpass.

The Washington State Patrol asks anyone with information about the incident to call.

Update 3 p.m.

The Washington State Patrol said the person who was found on northbound Interstate 405 and struck by a vehicle was a 16-year-old Bothell boy. It was still undetermined as of 3 p.m. whether the boy fell or jumped from the 160th Street overpass, according to the Washington State Patrol press memo.
Update: 1:37 p.m.
According the Seattle Times, though investigators initially thought that the man was hit by multiple vehicles, only one struck the man, and the driver returned to the scene.

A man possibly fell or jumped onto northbound Interstate 405 near Juanita-Woodinville Way, and his body was struck several times by passing vehicles, according to the Washington State Patrol on Saturday.

The man's body was found in lane 2 under the NE 160th Street overpass, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Only one of the vehicles that struck the man returned to the scene, the state patrol reported. The freeway was closed for several hours Saturday morning as the Washington State Patrol investigated.
