Man Who Shot Himself in Factoria Mall Parking Lot Identified

The man shot himself in the head in the parking lot beside the Big 5 Sporting Goods Store on Saturday.

The King County Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of a man who s parked next to the Big 5 Sporting Goods store at Factoria Mall.

The man was identified as Tony Richardson, 52. Bellevue police say he brought a rifle and parked his car outside of at Market Place at Factoria around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A witness had called police to report a possible suicide but he had shot himself in the head with the rifle by the time police arrived, police reported. Police say that no one else at the busy mall that afternoon was threatened. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but died.

The King County Medical Examiner concluded that the death was a suicide.
