Memorial Fund Established for Bellevue Homicide Victim

Nataliya Vabischevich died after being stabbed last week in her Bellevue condominium. Her ex-husband, Aleksandr Polak, is accused of her murder.

A memorial fund has been established at BECU for Nataliya Vabischevich, the Bellevue woman killed last week, according to a KOMO News report. Donations can be made to any BECU, according to the report.

Vabishchevich's ex-husband, Alexandr Polak, 46, is accused of her murder by the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Bellevue Police say that Polak, who had been divorced from Vabishchevich, had returned to the area several weeks ago, and was interviewed Monday with cuts to his hands and neck.

The couple had a young son, who was at middle school when he mother was killed in their condominium at the Tenth Place at Bellevue condominium complex, 12680 NE 10th Place. Vabishchevich, a native of Belarus, was 35 years old.

Bellevue Police arrested Polak on Thursday after following him to southern California on a Greyhound bus, where he told other passengers that he planned to fly to Europe from Mexico, according to court documents. King County Prosecutors have requested his extradition to Washington state.

Vabishchevich was a massage therapist at Pure Chiropractic Center in Bellevue ant Eastside Life Chiropractic in Redmond.

Eastside Life Chiropractic paid tribute to her on its Facebook page, and encouraged patients to post their experiences of her. One wrote:

Every time I saw Nataliya she greeted me with a smile and a gentleness that emanated from her eyes and touched my heart. Her healing began in this moment. Thank you Nataliya for sharing you beautiful spirit with me and my family.
