Learn How to Fight Against Crime at National Night Out

The Bellevue Police Department is hosting its 29th annual National Night Out Against Crime event at Crossroads on Aug. 7.

The event is on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from noon to 6:30 p.m. at the Bellevue Crossroads Farmers Market on the east side of the .

Communities all across the nation are hosting their own block parties, cookouts, and community gatherings for National Night Out.  

Bellevue residents of all ages are invited to participate in the National Night Out community party.

This year’s event will feature entertainment for families, prizes for kids, food, and different divisions of the Bellevue Police Department will put on public safety demonstrations.

Over 15,000 communities and over 37 million people across the country participated in last year’s National Night Out, according to the National Association of Town Watch, the organization that puts on the event.

National Night Out is designed to promote crime and drug prevention, enhance public safety awareness, encourage participation in local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen police and community partnerships.

People will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbors and learn how to organize together to keep their neighborhoods safe.
