Bellevue Fire, Other Agencies Assist with Redmond Blaze

Redmond firefighters reported that no one was injured.

About 50 firefighters from Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Bellevue, and Eastside fire and rescue tackled a blaze at a Redmond home on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Battalion Chief Ralph Ashmore, of the Redmond Fire Department, said there were no injuries of occupants or firefighters in the fire, which began on the home's deck and spread quickly to the kitchen and attic. The fire was on the on the 9900 block of 184th Ave NE, off Avondale Road.

Firefighters cut holes in the roof of the house to get to the blaze in the attic. Ashmore said everyone got a little tense when they opened up the roof.

"That was a lot of heat," he said.

However, the home was saved, with apparently little fire damage to the first and second floor, according to investigators and Ashmore.
