Report: Driver in Fatal Bellevue Crash Allegedly Smoked Pot

The driver in a fatal Bellevue crash that killed a motorcyclist on Oct. 4 told officers that he had a medical marijuana card and was smoking pot before the crash, according to a news report.

The driver, a 33-year-old Bellevue man, was released without bail and has not been charged, according to the TV station.

Bellevue police say that the driver of the car attempted to make a left turn to northbound 102nd Avenue from Northeast 10th Street around 6 p.m. Friday, and collided with the motorcycle. Witnesses attempted CPR on the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man, according to the Bellevue Police Department.

The man was immediately transported Overlake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Bellevue Police Department.

The driver of the car was arrested at the scene, according to the Bellevue Police Department.
