Teen in Intensive Care after Interstate 405 Crash in Bellevue

A 19-year-old Redmond man was driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro when he failed to negotiate a turn onto I-90 and struck a tree. His passenger, a 14-year-old Woodinville girl, was also injured.

A 14-year-old Woodinville girl injured in a Sunday crash on I-405 has been transferred to Harborview Medical Center and is in intensive care with serious injuries, a hospital spokeswoman reported Monday.

The other teen injured in the crash, a 19-year-old Redmond man, was treated and released from Overlake Hospital Medical Center on Sunday.

The two Eastside teens were transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center Sunday morning .

The Redmond man was driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro on I-405 southbound at about 9:10 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn onto I-90 westbound and struck a tree, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.

The collision remains under investigation with Washington State Patrol. Drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
