Worker Electrocuted at Bellevue Construction Site

A man in his 30s was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition this morning after suffering a high voltage shock while operating a boom truck.

A worker was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition after suffering a high voltage shock on a construction site in the Enatai neighborhood, Bellevue fire and Labor and Industries officials said.

The man, who is in his 30s, was operating a boom truck at a residential construction site around 10:30 a.m. at 10600 block of Southeast 20th Street when he got shocked, said Bellevue Fire Department spokesman Lt. Troy Donlin.

Fire fighters arrived to find the man in very critical condition, and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center, he said. 

Officials were still investigating how the incident happened, said Department of Labor and Industries spokeswoman Elaine Fischer. Details on his employer and his condition were not immediately available.
