WSP Seeks Witnesses to Possible New Year's Eve I-405 Race

Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a Dec. 31 rollover accident in Renton on northbound Interstate 405

Washington State Patrol detectives are seeking additional witnesses to a "dangerously driven vehicle" that caused a rollover collision on northbound I-405 on New Year's Eve.

Witnesses told WSP investigators that a green Honda Accord was traveling at high speeds and passing vehicles on the right shoulder of the freeway at around 7 p.m. as it approached State Route 167. The Honda made a sudden lane change and hit the right rear of a green Subaru Outback causing it to roll over in the lane .

Troopers say it's possible the Honda was involved in a high-speed race with a third unidentifed vehicle. One of the racing cars remained at the scene, while the second suspect vehicle fled, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Julie Judson.
