How 'Livable' is Downtown Bellevue?

The city is holding open houses Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9-10, to talk about the Downtown Livability Initiative.

Please join the city of Bellevue for an update on the Downtown Livability Initiative.

We are seeking community input on the draft “audits” being reviewed by the project’s citizen advisory committee. These are reports on the results of the existing Land Use Code, which convey how it is working to guide Downtown development on the ground, including what is working well, where there is room for improvement or new opportunities.

Summaries of these focus group comments will be presented to the advisory committee.

When: Tuesday, July 9, 5-7 p.m., and Wednesday, July 10, 8-10 a.m. A presentation is set to start 30 minutes after the event begins, followed by focus groups.

Where: City Hall – Room 1E-108

The event will highlight:

  • Downtown Design: Building height and form, amenities, design guidelines, Pedestrian Corridor and open spaces, vision for DT-OLB district (along I-405)
  • Downtown Connectivity: Light rail interface, parking, transportation plan update
  • Other Items: Vacant buildings/sites, mechanical equipment, recycling and solid waste, vendor carts, permitted uses
