Update: Romney Plans Friday Public Appearance at Highland Community Center in Bellevue

The former governor of Massachusetts, vying to be the Republican presidential nominee, has added a meet and greet at Highland Community Center in Bellevue.

Mitt Romney, who won primaries in Michigan and Arizona Tuesday night, has added a public Friday meet and greet at the in Bellevue to his Washington itinerary.

The free event will follow a day after  at the  in Bellevue on Thursday afternoon and will be ahead of the (Progressive political advocacy group the Meydenbauer event.)

Romney's campaign asks people to RSVP to the meet and greet by signing up at his website.

Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and head of the 2002 Winter Olympic games in Salt Lake City, is in a hotly contested battle for the Republican presidential nomination with former Pennsylvania Senator , former Speaker of the House and Texas Congressman , who made appearances in the state in February.

Romney obtained the endorsement of Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA8) this week. Other Eastsiders endorsing Romney include Bellevue mayor Conrad Lee, former State Senator Dino Rossi of Sammamish and Bellevue attorney and former state Republican party chairwoman Diane Tebelius.

Thursday and Friday will be busy with campaign appearances. GOP nomination hopefuls Rick Santorum and Ron Paul plan to be in Washington state this week.Santorum plans on rallies in Eastern Washington, according to KING5. Paul has plans to be in Spokane and Ridgefield, Wash. (in Clark County) on Friday, according to Paul's calendar.
