State Route 520 Open House to be Held in Seattle Saturday

As design and construction of improvements to the State Route 520 corridor move forward, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking feedback on urban design elements for the highway in Seattle.

A public meeting is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 1, at Mary Gates Hall on the Seattle campus of the University of Washington.
A short presentation is planned at 9:30 a.m. on the Seattle Community Design Process, which focuses on SR 520 improvements at the Interstate 5 interchange, the Portage Bay Bridge, the Montlake interchange and the replacement of the west approach to the floating bridge.

During the meeting, WSDOT staff will take public input to help develop sustainable urban design elements that will enhance community connections, lids and bridge structures along SR 520 from I-5 to the west end of the floating bridge.

Public feedback will be used to further refine the WSDOT design of the project from I-5 to the floating bridge.
