Voter Deadline for August Primary Approaches Monday July 8

Monday, July 8, will be the last day to register to vote or update voter registration information in time for the Aug. 6 primary election, according to King County Elections.

Bellevue will have three primaries this August. 

Bellevue City Council Position 4, will have Bill Hirt, Steve Kasner and Jeffrey Talada challenging incumbent Kevin Wallace. The race for Bellevue City Council Position 6 sees Lynne Robinson, and Vandana Slatter challenging incumbent Don Davidson.

The Bellevue School District Seat number 5 will see My-Linh Thai, Erik Fretheim 
and Ed Luera on the ballot.

The county provided the following information on voter registration:

King County Elections will mail primary ballots to all registered voters on July 17, so it’s important that citizens register to vote and keep their address and other information, including their signature, updated.

Voters who miss the July 8 deadline to update their registration should still contact the Elections office to update their information for future elections. King County residents not currently registered in Washington can register in person after July 8 at the Elections office through July 29.

Who can register?

To be eligible to register to vote, you must be:

·         18 years old by election day (August 6)

·         A United States citizen

·         A legal resident of the state of Washington

·         Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections
