My travels: Alaska cruise

Blogger Randy Daniels updates readers on his recent trip to Alaska and Victoria, British Columbia.

Lets talk travel. I love to cruise. Cruise ships are one big floating resort.  I love that cruise ships take you to your destinations. I just got back from a really enjoyable cruise to Alaska, with a stop in British Columbia.

For the most part, I think Alaska looks like North Bend --  high mountains covered in snow and little towns nestled among them. But I want to give a shout out to two little gems you really should see on a cruise to Alaska. First, the town of Skagway, Alaska. There be gold in them hills. As a jumping off point to the gold fields, this little town really has a whole lot of charm. It's simple and refreshing and they have a really neat train.

The other place is Victoria, British Columbia. This little city is amazing. I found a petting zoo at the local park, the baby goats are a must see. A relaxing stroll in the park was needed after a week of eating like hog on the cruise. I also drove out to Butchart Gardens. I consider Butchart Gardens a must-see in any of your world travels. This is a magical place full of beautiful plants and flowers.
