Bellevue College's Board of Trustees voted on Friday evening to extend the term of Interim President Laura Saunders while they continue their search for a new president.
The board voted unanimously to retain President Saunders through June 30. She will continue in the position at her current level of salary and benefits.
The board has been searching for a new president since the departure of Jean Floten last year. The board stated that no candidate has yet gained enough support to take the position and that they will renew their efforts to fill the position.
"We want to make sure our decision is the best one possible for the college," Bellevue College Board of Trustees Chairperson Vicki Orrico said.
