Youth Connection | Bellevue DECA Means Business

Bellevue students take on business competition.

Last month, hundreds of Bellevue high school students dressed in their best business clothing in order to compete in the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Area 4 competition at Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue.

DECA provides a competitive platform for students interested in business and marketing. Students had the option of competing in a variety of events, from written business plans and advertisement campaigns to role-plays with real-life business scenarios.

The competition day passed in a blur as students rushed from one meeting room to the next. The opening and closing ceremonies were lively with chattering competitors and upbeat music in the background. Not surprisingly, many students from the (namely, and ) swept the awards and qualified for the Washington State DECA Conference this March.
