Bellevue School Board Members Sworn In

New Bellevue School Board Member Steve McConnell and two returning board members, Christine Chew and Mike Murphy, were sworn in at the Bellevue School Board meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Newly elected Bellevue School Board member Steve McConnell and two returning board members, Christine Chew and Mike Murphy were sworn into their offices Tuesday at the school board meeting.

McConnell came out on top in a tight race with a less than 2 percent lead over incumbent Betsy Johnson. Johnson was was named to the seat of retiring board member Judy Bushnell a little under two years ago.

Chew, who was appointed to the board last year, and Murphy were unopposed in the election.

They were sworn in by outgoing School Board President Chris Marks. The board selected Paul Mills to be the board president for 2012 and Mike Murphy to be board vice president.
