Bellevue Schools the Topic at Summit Tonight at City Hall

Topics include community building, sister school program, technology, more.

The Bellevue Schools Stakeholders Summit will hold a public forum tonight to share ideas to help propel Bellevue Schools’ tradition of excellence into the future.

According to organizers, the community-driven public forum will provide a way for additional stakeholders to listen to each other, share information and be heard by everyone from the BSD board and cabinet members to local elected officials.

When:  Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 6-9 p.m.

Keynote Speaker:  Paul Hill, director of University of Washington Bothell's
Center on Reinventing Public Education.  Education reform for excellence.

Some of the topics people will be sharing at the Summit include:

 - Community Values Statement as a model for change

- Program Development Councils as a model for dialogue

- Supporting students that are at risk, but not in crisis

- Efforts to alleviate academic stress on students

- Supporting Student Health and Wellness

- Sister School Program

- Technology for Learning

- Curriculum Enhancement Committees

- Community Building efforts at different schools

- How to support the changing demographics of Bellevue
