Bellevue Superintendent Finalist Interviews Dates Scheduled

Semi-finalist interviews were expected to be the next step in finding a replacement for Amalia Cudeiro, who left midyear to take care of her ill mother. The board hopes to name someone in time for the 2012-13 year.

Bellevue School District Superintendent finalist interviews, which include public forums, are scheduled for next week.

Now the board has to to select the finalists.

The board hopes to do that over the weekend after interviewing semi-finalists over the weekend in phone interviews, winnowed from a field of 20 applicants.

Up to three finalists will be introduced to the community and interviewed by different groups within the district, including the Bellevue Education Association, other unions and groups, and a Community Observer Panel.

The board has been searching for a replacement for to care for her terminally ill mother. After a short-lived exploration of hiring interim Seattle superintendent Susan Enfield, who was hired by another district, the district got a start that later than many districts, but search firm .

Join the community observer panel

If you are a parent of a child in the district, volunteer to be one of two parents to sit on the Community Observer Panel.  Members of the Community Observer Panel must commit to participating all three days of the panel which is 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm May 22, 23 and 24.  Members will be chosen by lottery.  Interested?  Send an e-mail to Jacque Coe atcoej@bsd405.org or call 425-456-4000 with your name, address, phone and the school your child attends by noon on Friday, May 18.
