Youth Connection: Two Dozen Head to University of Washington's Summer Institute for Mathematics

Twenty-four youth to take part in SIMUW at the University of Washington.

As summer vacation gets under way, two dozen youth will brave another six weeks of education. The University of Washington is offering the Summer Institute for Mathematics, or SIMUW for short, a free summer math camp with admittance.

At SIMUW, these mathematicians will participate in various mathematical lessons. Outside the academic purpose for going to SIMUW, this camp is also a great way to make friends and experience a bit college life on campus while still in high school.

Applications to SIMUW involved eight mathematical proofs and recommendation letter from a current math teacher.
