Third game was Friday, when Bellevue beat Farmingdale, NY, 12-5

Bellevue Boys Lacrosse swept the three games on their Spring Break road trip to New York state, finishing up Friday with a 12-5 win over Farmingdale.

Bellevue junior Cole Johnson scored five goals on Friday against Farmingdale boys lacrosse, who were last year's Class A New York state champs.

"It's amazing and unexpected," said Pat Boyd, father of Bellevue goalie Austin Boyd, a senior. "We were surprised at how we did against some really, really good teams."

Tuesday, Bellevue head coach John Baumann, Jr. brought his team to Oceanside (NY) to play his alma mater. The Bellevue team beat Oceanside and Bauman's former head coach, 8-4. On Thursday, Bellevue beat Long Beach (NY) by a score of 10-9.

Bellevue Boys Lacrosse has gone on spring break road trips before, including two trips to Dallas and a trip to California, Boyd said.

On this spring break trip, players got the chance to take in the sights and culture of nearby New York City, visiting the 9/11 Memorial and the Museum of Modern Art, between games, Boyd said.
