Bellevue's Osmer Join UW Women's Hoops Program

Megan Osmer, who shined at Bellevue High in the late 1990s and early 2000s, has accepted the position of Director of Basketball Operations for new coach Kevin McGuff.

graduate Megan Osmer is returning to her Northwest roots after accepting the position of Director of Basketball Operations for the University of Washington women's basketball program.

Osmer, a 2002 graduate of Bellevue High School, is joining the staff of new women's basketball coach Kevin McGuff after three seasons as an assistant coach at San Jose State.

Osmer will be in charge of a number of aspects in her role, including travel logistics and on-campus recruiting.

Osmer was part of the most successful four-year run in Bellevue girls basketball history. Osmer's teams went 93-18 during her four-year varsity run, including four straight top-6 state finishes.

Osmer played one year at Michigan State University before transferring to Lynn University, where she still ranks in the top-5 in career blocks and rebounding. Following graduation she played with the Manchester Mystics in the United Kingdom before taking the job at San Jose State.

"It is home," Osmer told gohuskies.com of returning to the Northwest. "I'm excited to have my family involved here. And to be able to work with a staff of this caliber is what I'm really looking forward to."
