Bellevue Hoops Face Chief Sealth Tonight in Day 1 of Playoffs

In day 1 of the 2011 WIAA 3A State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome, Bellevue boys basketball faces off with Chief Sealth International High School in Seattle.

What: Round of Eight State Playoff Game, winner to semifinal round, loser out

Teams:

(22-5) – Bellevue has won 13 of its past 14 games with its only loss coming in the KingCo championship game against Mercer Island. The Wolverines kicked off the state tourney with a 80-45 thrashing of Decatur, the Wolverines third win of at least 20 points in their last five games. Will Locke scored 22 in the win over Decatur and is averaging over 20 over the last five games.

Chief Sealth (21-9) – Chief Sealth has won two straight since back-to-back losses to close out the Sea-King district playoffs. The Seahawks have already beaten Bellevue this year, a 60-58 win in the MLK Hoop Challenge in January. Keon Lewis is the leading scorer for Chief Sealth at over 18 ppg and is coming off a 30-point effort against Lincoln. D’Nique Harris-Welch (10.4 ppg) has scored in double-digits for six straight games.
