Bellevue Lacrosse Marks a Win in Texas

Bellevue Lacrosse Club traveled to Texas where they downed Plano West High School 10-4. Next game is Saturday in Highland Park.

PLANO, Tex. --- Cole Johnson scored 3 goals to lead Bellevue to its sixth win of the season with a 10 – 4 boys high school lacrosse defeat of Plano West High School, Wednesday in Plano, Texas.

With unfamiliar conditions, the defending state champions jumped out to a 5 – 0 lead in the first and took a 5 – 1 advantage into the half time break before netting 5 more in the fourth to cruise to the win. With game time temperatures pushing 83 degrees, the Wolverines played their first game without rain.

“I thought we responded pretty well to the climate,” said Bellevue coach John Baumann. “It’s always good to get our first win on the road.”

Bellevue sophomore Dakota Jones contributed 2 goals and neutralized the Wolves’ faceoff threat while Sam Leggett collected 7 ground balls and Austin Boyd had 12 saves to set the table for Bellevue.
