Bellevue Lacrosse Rolls Past Lynnwood; Next Game is Tonight at 7 p.m. in Everett

The defending Division I state champion Wolverines are 8-2-0 on the season. They play Mukilteo (1-5-0), Friday, April 15 in a 7 p.m. start at Mariner High School in Everett.

LYNNWOOD – In a battle of champions, Drew Douglas netted 6 goals as Bellevue rolled past Lynnwood 18 – 1 in boys high school lacrosse action, Thursday at Lynnwood High School. The win advanced the defending Division I state champion Wolverines to 8-2-0 on the season, while Lynnwood, playing its first season in the upper division after winning the 2010 Division II crown, is winless in seven starts this season.

Bellevue showed its might early, blanking the Tigers as it established an 8-goal lead in the first. In the second, the Wolverine defense again dominated as Bellevue took a 10 – 0 advantage into the half. Allowing just one goal in the third, a solo shot by Lynwood’s Sam Girgus, assisted by his brother Cameron, Bellevue netted another 4 in the quarter and 4 in the final stanza to round out the scoring.

Douglas’ scoring, his highest output of the season, gave the midfielder 8 goals on the season.Cole Johnson and Hank Bethke each contributed 3 goals for the Wolverines. David Dekoukkouk kept busy in the nets by a relentless, Wolverine attack, had 15 saves for Lynnwood.

Bellevue (8-2-0) next faces Mukilteo (1-5-0), Friday, April 15 in a 7 p.m. start at Mariner High School in Everett. Lynnwood (0-7-0) next faces Vashon (1-4-0), Saturday, April 16 in a 7 p.m. start at Vashon High School.
