The Interlake High School Basketball team will collect items on Jan. 25 for snack packs aimed at homeless youth. Food collected will be distributed by Eastside agency Friends of Youth.

Interlake High School spirit includes service on Jan. 25, as the basketball team collects food for homeless youth at its home game against Juanita High School.

Eastside agency Friends of Youth will distribute the food as "snack packs" for homeless youth.

Interlake basketball parent board member Ross Muramoto writes that the food donation list includes granola, peanut butter snack crackers, trail mix, juice box, cheese crackers, fruit snacks/fruit roll ups, and Cup Noodles.

The team is collecting the items as part of the agency's Youth Helping Youth program. The basketball team will collect the items and later will assemble the snacks together and personnally distribute the items to the organization, Muramoto writes.
