Lake Sammamish Half Nearly Sold Out

Regular registration for the popular annual run ends Jan. 31, and organizers say spots are filling up fast.

Working on your fitness goals? The Lake Sammamish Half, set for March 9 this year, is a great way to test your progress, but time to register is running out.

Though there is a late registration period in February, the race is on to sign up before the 2,000 spots are filled--the race is 75 percent full.

Organizers say the Pacific Northwest Half-Marathon is flat and fast, and follows the scenic East Lake Sammamish gravel trail along Lake Sammamish from Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. About 60 percent of the course will be on fast, smooth gravel surface, 40 percent on pavement.

The race is chip-timed, and the organization says each racer will receive a custom bib, a finisher medal, a Tech Shirt (Male and Female specific cuts), and other sponsor products. Volunteers will man aid stations with Clif bars/gels, fruit, nuun and water and the race ends with food and music at the finish.

This event benefits Cascade Challenge, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership and outdoor adventure opportunities to youth ages 14-20. The organization also partners with FrogBox to collect new and used shoes at the finish line. These shoes will be given to non-profit Redeeming Soles and distributed locally to those in need.
