A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 for Newport football coach Tim Driver.
The service will begin at 4 pm and will be held in the Main Gym.
Driver passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 16, just hours before Newport's game with Bothell. The Newport team won the game and learned soon after that Driver had died of natural causes due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
Driver was in his 25th year of coaching and coached basketball and softball at Newport in addition to football.
Bruce Brown, Driver's mentor, told the Seattle Times that Driver was a "kid magnet" and a "life-changer."
