Sammamish Lacrosse Handles North Kitsap

Schmidt's 5 goals drives Sammamish past North Kitsap

BELLEVUE – Tyvan Schmidt led all scorers with 5 goals to drive high flying Sammamish to its 11th win of the season with a 22 – 1 handling of North Kitsap, Saturday at Newport High School in Bellevue.

The win was the sixth in a row for Sammamish since dropping its only contest of the season to Northshore, 11 – 6 on March 31.

Schmidt’s scoring gave the senior a division leading 51 goals on the season. Brain Headland and Tyler Wright contributed 3 goals each for Sammamish. For North Kitsap, Colter Smith netted the lone goal and Chazz Zachroff had 10 saves.

Sammamish (11-1-0) next faces Liberty (3-5-0), Thursday, April 28 in an 8 p.m. start at Liberty High School in Renton. North Kitsap (3-4-0) next faces Klahowya (7-2-0), Wednesday, April 27 in a 5:30 p.m. start at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.
