WHAT: Grand Opening of Sophia’s Thrift Shoppe. Sophia's Thrift Shoppe is not just any ordinary thrift store. Your purchases fund programs that shelter, counsel, train, and teach independence skills to homeless adult women in our region. Soon Sophia's Thrift Shoppe will also be a job-training center, extending our ability to have a momentous impact in the lives of homeless women and our community. Help us celebrate with coffee and treats, raffles, goodies bags, surprise specials and much more.
“We hope that the community embraces this thrift store,” said Karina O’Malley, interim executive director of The Sophia Way. “The citizens of King County can play an important role in the journey of women experiencing homelessness in a variety of ways - from shopping here, which helps fund the program, to volunteering in the store alongside our clients. There are hidden treasures and opportunities to be discovered.”
