Youth Connection: Bellevue Annual 5k/10k Run

A recap of the annual fundraiser for the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary, which took place earlier this month.

The Bellevue Downtown Park is usually peaceful and quiet, but on April 17th, the Bellevue Annual 5k/10k Run attracted over two thousand participants.

Brought to you by the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and Seattle Kindering, the 5th Annual 5k/10k run helps the community by providing funds for service projects such as the computers for schools in Antigua, the Northwest Harvest, and even the Crossroads Water Park. Kindering also uses the funds to create safe centers for disabled, abused, or neglected children.

Adults, teens, children, and even pets socialized at the event booths, and live music performances energized the participants before the races. The race route began at the park, continued through downtown Bellevue, and ended where it started. On the last hill, large masses of family and friends crowded on the sides, and cheered alongside two people who danced in banana suits as participants ran by. Announcers called out the runners’ names as they passed through the red finish arch.
