Youth Connection: Community Leadership Awards Recognizes Outstanding Youth

Bellevue Youth Link recognized outstanding youth at the Community Leadership Awards.

On May 17, 20 outstanding youth of our city were recognized for their excellence in a city-recognized event, the Community Leadership Awards (CLA). The Bellevue Youth Link Community Leadership Awards action team managed to plan and carry out this incredible event in a mere three months. Held at the , the CLA is designed to acknowledge the youth who best represent the qualities of a Bellevue student, including Best Athlete, Most Inspirational, Best Leader, Diversity Champion, and more.

After the planning came the difficult process of selecting the most qualified from a myriad of nominations. Present at the event were the award winners and their families, the Youth Link Executive Committee and action teams, the Youth Board, as well as state and city officials. At the event, Bellevue also received the for the fourth year in a row. The CLA action team and Bellevue Youth Link were also honored with a letter from Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire.

With this successful event, the Bellevue Youth Link has reiterated to the City Council that Youth Link is a vital piece of the city, justifying its continued funding in wake of the 2011-2012 billion dollar budget cuts.
