Youth Connection: Restoring the Arboretum

A recap of an Earth Day event

How did you celebrate Earth Day? Planting trees? Wildlife restoration? Appreciating nature? Well, these actions were how thirty-five teen volunteers spent this day. 250 volunteers with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) partnered with 65 of Quest`s (Century Link) volunteers to help restore the Seattle’s Arboretum.

These volunteers really knew how to clean up as all throughout the park, there was not a single piece of litter.

"Some of these people have been here every weekend and others come whenever they have free time," says Sue Anderson, “It`s not only to make this world a better place. It`s also to give back to the community."

A number of these participants have been working on this project since early October 2010 and they will continue until this December.

Way to go volunteers! We all appreciate the hard work!
